Why New York Fries

Established in 1984, New York Fries is a Canadian chain of franchised retail outlets specializing in the sale of premium quality fresh-cut French fries.

Through its single product focus, and authentic “real-fresh-fries” voice and by positioning itself as offering the best quality fresh-cut French fries available, New York Fries has carved out a very successful and unique market niche.

This focus, although unconventional for fast food outlets, does have a solid, strategic rationale. French fries account for approximately 16% of the enormous fast food market, yet fries are rarely presented by the fast food purveyors as being special. The result is the domination by New York Fries of the gourmet French fries market category. There is no significant competition, which has enabled New York Fries to enjoy excellent profit margins.

There are presently 151 locations world-wide; 115 in Canada, including company-owned and franchised stores. There are 29 international outlets in seven countries including the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Macau, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and Kurdistan. Stores are primarily located in food courts of major shopping malls.
